The Hôtel Moustic, or Moustic Hotel in English, is a building in Brussels.
Description[edit | edit source]
Built right next to the seedier Hotel of the Ungilded Cockroach, M. Papillon's Moustic Hotel was, in the late 1930's, a top-of-the-line luxury hotel. Spirou got his first job there as a bellhop, before going on to become a journalist and adventurer in the aftermath of World War II. The Moustic had a large staff, with brutish and arrogant Entresol as its chief of personnel.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Its name is a play on “Moustique”, the French word for 'mosquito'; as such, the hotel's emblem is a cartoony rendition of one such insect.
