Mrs Roosevelt was a female dognose.

Elegant and amicable Mrs Roosevelt was the wife of the President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt, who told her much about his friend Scrooge McDuck. In 1906, following her husband to the Panama Canal digging site, she met and befriended Hortense and Matilda McDuck, whom she told about the Teddy Bear.

Behind the scenesEdit

Edith Roosevelt Official Portrait

Official portrait of the real Edith Roosevelt.

Mrs Roosevelt appears in the 2001 bonus chapter of The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, The Sharpie of the Culebra Cut.

She is based on the historical character of the same name, whose first name was Edith. In opposition to the way she was colored in most printings of Sharpie of the Culebra Cut, the real Edith Roosevelt was dark-haired, though Don Rosa did not otherwise stray from the First Lady's appearance (dog-nose aside).
