Mystery of the Manse: Part Three is the second episode of Mystery of the Manse, written by Dan Vado and penciled by David Hedgecock. It features the Ghost Host, and, within his story, his mortal identity of William Gracey (identifying the Host with Master Gracey) as well as his pirate crew (later to become the Pop-Up Ghosts of the Attic).
Plot
The Ghost Host continues the story of his life as William Gracey — with this portion of his tale concerning his life as the increasingly-ruthless pirate Captain Blood, ending with his heartless betrayal of his crew in exchange for immunity and safe passage to New Orleans!
References
- A short time before Captain Blood decided to betray his crew and go straight, Port Royal in Jamaica had been destroyed in an earthquake and tidal wave, signaling the end of the golden age of piracy.
Continuity
- The ghosts of Blood's betrayed crew murdered by the French garrison later reappear in Mystery of the Manse: Part Five (2006), being revealed to become the Pop-Up Ghosts of the Attic in The Haunted Mansion (1969).
