No Hunting is a cartoon written by Bill Berg and Dick Shaw and directed by Jack Hannah. It features Donald Duck and Grandpa Duck, as well as several incidental characters and a guest appearance by Bambi and his mother. Donald's own mother also makes a brief cutaway cameo.
Plot[]
Donald Duck enjoys his comfy modern life in the city, but as hunting season approaches, the ghost of his buffalo-hunting Grandpappy climbs down from his portrait to teach him a thing or two about the old hunting lifestyle! Unfortunately, even he doesn't know what to make of the dark farce that is modern hunting…
The presence of Bambi (as a fawn) and of his mother (still alive) suggests No Hunting takes place during the events of Bambi (1942). Donald's mother's cameo would then confirm Volcano Valley (1947)'s suggestion that “Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck's grandmother” was still alive, but rather aged, in the mid-1940's.
