No Noise Is Good Noise is a comic one-pager written and drawn by Carl Barks. It features Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck and a portrait of Scrooge McDuck's great-great-grandfather.

PlotEdit

Donald Duck can't seem to find somewhere to read the book he got for Christmas in peace, as Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck run amok playing with the toys they got for Christmas.

ReferencesEdit

  • The book Donald got for Christmas is entitled Oh, So?.

ContinuityEdit

  • The portrait of a dour-looking military duck, seen in the background of the second panel, was identified in Der Stammbaum der Ducks (1999) as Scrooge McDuck's great-great-grandfather. Although the 1999 Duck family tree had a different idea of where to place Seafoam McDuck, this would, as far as mainstream continuity is concerned, suggest that the portrait is one of a middle-aged Seafoam.

Behind the scenesEdit

Written in August of 1949, this story was first printed in November of 1949 in Dell's Walt Disney's Christmas Parade #1. Gold Key reprinted it in its Christmas Parade #5, Gladstone in its Christmas Parade #2 and Gemstone in its Christmas Parade #1, and it was, of course, also reprinted in the various Carl Barks Libraries.
