This parodic comic one-pager from the non-Disney Oh! Good Heavens! comic series was written and drawn by Janry. It features Saint Peter, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, Dopey and Doc), with a mention of an old lady strongly implied to be Witch Grimhilde.
Description[]
When the Seven Dwarfs all arrive in Heaven, all in a pretty mad mood, Saint Peter can't help but ask what happened…
Continuity[]
- In this non-canonical timeline, the Dwarfs apparently died on New Year's Eve when Snow White baked them an apple pie using apples given to her by a certain old lady. In Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) itself, Snow was indeed baking the Dwarfs an apple pie, though not for any specific winter holiday, when Grimhilde came along in her disguise as an apple-peddler. However, in the movie, Grimhilde convinces Snow White to eat one of the apples herself, abandoning her initial project of a pie for the Dwarfs.
Behind the scenes[]
This comic page was only ever printed in French in 2020 in Le Journal de Spirou #4271; it was an unlicensed nod at Disney's characters, on the basis of #4271 being a special issue of the Journal focused on animation. As such, one of the regular comic series of the book, Oh! Good Heavens!, crossed over (albeit in a context which this Wiki cannot consider canonical) with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs while, elsewhere in the book, Fantasio gave his interpretation of “The Life of Walt Disney”.
