Osborne is the name of an anthropomorphic dog. He, along with Taliaferro, was one of the first two Junior Woodchucks under Clinton Coot.[1]

Osborne is an elderly anthropomorphic dog who, in his youth, was one of the first ever Junior Woodchucks under Clinton Coot.[1] This means that he had joined the Junior Woodchucks before Scrooge McDuck's arrival in Duckburg in 1902.[2]
Before retiring from the Junior Woodchucks, he reached the rank of Grand Marshal.[1]
During one Junior Woodchuck Jamboree after his retirement and after Christmas 1947[3], he was given the award of Woodchuck Honored As The First, Original Recruits, And Notables You Will Acclaim Year-round, also known as W.H.A.T.F.O.R.A.N.Y.W.A.Y.[1]

Osborne first appeared in 1997's W.H.A.D.A.L.O.T.T.A.J.A.R.G.O.N. by Don Rosa, where it was revealed that he and Taliaferr
Billy and Tommy from The Invader of Fort Duckburg. It is possible that one of these is Osborne in his youth.
o were the first two Junior Woodchucks under Clinton Coot. However, in 1994's The Invader of Fort Duckburg, Rosa depicted a certain Duckburg Charter Troop of the Junior Woodchucks as having existed in 1902. One of its members was Fulton Gearloose. The other two were anthropomorphic dogs named Billy and Tommy. While it is unknown if Rosa intended for Osborne to be the same character as one of the anthropomorphic dogs from The Invader of Fort Duckburg, it is certainly a possibility that he is an older version of one of them. To support this, Osborne is often a surname, while Billy and Tommy are first names.
Osborne was named after Disney comics writer Ted Osborne, who collaborated with Al Taliaferro, Taliaferro's namesake, to create the comic strip in which Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck first appear. His appearance also seems to be inspired by that of Ted Osborne.
