Phil DeLara (1914-1973) was a Disney comic book artist.
Career[]
DeLara debuted as a Warner Brothers animator, working on Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig, and later focusing on Speedy Gonzales and the Tasmanian Devil. DeLara was then hired by Western Publishings, and drew various stories (though he rarely wrote them) for MGM and Disney characters. In Disney comics, his specialty was Chip'n'Dale, and he was the main artist of their comic title. He also drew Duck adventures, as well as a few Mickey Mouse tales for the Disney Foreign Market studios. He died in 1973.
