The Prehistoric Duck is a male anthropomorphic duck.
Description[]
A mysterious, missing Duck relative was present on Grandma Duck's Chart of the Duck Family Tree in 1960, whom nobody in the family knew what had happened to. Shortly after Grandma told the rest of the Duck clan about this riddle, a tornado transported them to a dinosaur-filled valley in which they stumbled upon a bizarrely gigantic egg.
It soon hatched a fully-grown, fully-clothed duck bearing an unmistakeable resemblance to Donald — the missing relative, whom Scrooge McDuck theorized had somehow been cooped up in that supernatural egg for centuries. The Prehistoric Duck dressed and acted like an angry caveman, but the Ducks still felt it was their duty to accept him into their family. After Gyro Gearloose fed him a Language Pill to make him learn English, and they managed to make it back to civilization, Grandma agreed with the Prehistoric Duck that he would now work on her farm as a handyman, in exchange of which he would have access to her delicious cooking.
Behind the scenes[]
The Prehistoric Duck appears in the 1960 comic story Family Fun. He is never named in the English version, but the title of the French translation of the story names him “Hibernaduck”, in reference to the Louis de Funès film comedy Hibernatus about a caveman frozen in a glacier who is returned to life in the present day and attempts to pass for a modern man.
Although the story of a temperamental caveduck being adopted into the Duck family resembles that of Bubba (and even moreso that of his counterpart in DuckTales 2017, who is identified as a shadowy ancestor of the Clan McDuck), it is unlikely that any causal link exists between the two, as Bubba is the result of a pitch for several "gimmick ducks" which also included a superhero duck and a space duck.
