Professor Padraic Ratigan was an Anthropomorphic Rat.
Description
Padraic Ratigan was an evil professor who had the bad luck of being born a rat in a society of mice. However, gifted with an exceptional intelligence, Ratigan managed to get out of the sewers to which his species confined. Constructing himself a gentleman persona, and keeping his frequent accesses of anger under control, he became a respected chemist. But envy led him to start a career in criminality. Ratigan plundered London, stealing and killing, and eventually coming up against a hero: Basil of Baker Street, a former student of Ratigan. Ratigan attempted to replace the Queen of Mousepotamia with a robotic duplicate, but Basil managed to stop him. Eventually, Ratigan cornered Basil on the Elizabeth Tower, but the clock hand he was standing on moved and caused Ratigan to plummet, seemingly to his doom. However, it appears that he survived.
