Professor Waldrake was an anthropomorphic duck.

Professor Waldrake was one of Victor von Duckenstein's teachers at Ingoldstadt at the beginning of the 19th century. He, alongside his colleague Gyrempe, taught Victor modern artistic and chemical theories, insisting that Victor's classical education (based on the works of the likes of Papercelsus and Gyrus Magnus) was woefully outdated.

Behind the scenesEdit

Scrooge von Duck appears in the 2016 story Duckenstein.

As the story is one of the Grandi Parodie, he is a historical counterpart to a present-day regular — namely, Ludwig von Drake. As to the "Frankenstein parody" aspect of things, he takes over the role of Doctor Waldman from the Mary Shelley novel, who was famously expanded upon from his small role in the Universal films, portrayed by Edward Van Sloan.

It is possible that Waldrake is an ancestor of Ludwig von Drake, much as Gyrempe may be of Gyro Gearloose's line.
