Raiders of the Doomsday Vault is the fourteenth episode of Season 2 of DuckTales 2017, a television cartoon episode. It features the 2017 Continuum versions of Scrooge McDuck, Dewey Duck, Della Duck, Flintheart Glomgold and Zan Owlson, with Ludwig von Drake, Huey Duck and Louie Duck getting mentions. Bentina Beakley is spoken on the phone to, but does not appear in the flesh. The Ludwig von Drake A.I. and Von Drake's children Corvus, Anya and Klara make their debuts.

Description

Flying to the polar regions to try and save the Von Drake Doomsday Vault seed repository from a slow destruction (and make a hefty buck in the process), Scrooge McDuck makes the mistake of taking along the spectacularly reckless duo that are Dewey Duck and his recently-returned mother Della! And as if that wasn't enough, Flintheart Glomgold has decided to show up…

The Sunchaser was originally named the Cloudslayer back when Della Duck was the one to fly it.
Ludwig von Drake, father of three, and deceased, in this continuity, founded the Von Drake Doomsday Vault in the 1960's. Also home to the Money Tree of Orromorrus, it is equipped with “food, shelter, water, poison darts and vampire anti-tox“. Doomsday scenarios envisioned by Von Drake whilst designing the Vault include:
- Zombies;
- Hyperintelligent hairless apes;
- Werewolves (whom Ludwig believes to be “extremely smart with numbers, but colorblind”, hence an activation code in the form of a color pad).

Continuity

The episode follows up from Nothing Can Stop Della Duck (2019), being the first adventure shared by Della Duck and Uncle $crooge since her miraculous return from the Moon.
Scrooge is wearing the same cold-climate outfit as in The Impossible Summit of Mount Neverrest (2017).
On several occasion, the Prime Universe Scrooge McDuck sought or possessed a Money Tree, most notably in Culprits, Inc. (1965).
After trying to reassure Beakley that Della “wouldn't just steal an aircraft and set out on a whim”, he awkwardly corrects himself with “…except for that one time…”. This, of course, refers to the Spear of Selene debacle, revealed in Nothing Can Stop Della Duck (2018).
The musical color-coded code to disable one of the security measures is none other than the Spectrum Song from An Adventure in Color (1961), the debut of the original Ludwig.
