The Red Duck, whose real name might have been Donald Duck,[1] was an anthropomorphic duck.

Description[edit | edit source]

A descendant of Pintail Duck and ancestor of Donald, the Red Duck was a pirate captain who sailed his pirate ship, the Golden Beak, near the coast of Duckburg in the first half of the 18th century. Unlike the modern Donald, the Red Duck was a tough and effective man, and he was very much feared by the rich Duckburgers he often raided. In 1726, he was briefly impersonated by his descendant and lookalike Donald Duck (thanks to a time machine invented by Gyro Gearloose).

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The Red Duck only appeared in the 1990 story The Red Duck.

Footnotes and References[edit | edit source]

  1. In some translations of the story, rather than "the Red Duck", his name was "Donald the Red".
