Selene is a goddess and Selene's counterpart from the 2017 Continuum.

Description

The ancient Greco-Roman Goddess of the Moon, Selene now dwells in Ithaquack along with her cousin Zeus and a few other mythological beings. As Zeus had made Ithaquack into a sort of "resort" for legendary heroes, she met Scrooge McDuck and his nephew and niece, Donald and Della Duck; and she took a liking to Della, with whom she became close friends.

A decade after Della's mysterious disappearance, Della's son Dewey Duck (with with Webby Vanderquack) tracked her down to try and find out what had happened to her, as the clues they'd found linked Della's death to something called the "Spear of Selene". While she was glad to meet her mortal friend's heir, Selene was unable to help them; while she owned a Sword and a Sphere, she did not possess a Spear. After considering the matter, Selene nonetheless seemed to form a theory of what the "Spear" might be — something that wasn't an artifact — but she refused to share it with Dewey and Webby directly, although she did give them the Sphere to help them find it.

Behind the scenes

Selene, based on the mythological figure of the same name, first truly appeared in The Spear of Selene, the 12th episode of DuckTales 2017, though mentions of the Spear of Selene as early as the pilot Woo-oo! can be considered a sort of early-bird debut.
