The Shadow is a brooding vigilante of the night, owing his name to his proficiency at hiding from his marks and also the striking figure he cuts wearing his long black cloak. When they encountered one another in 1975, the Phantom Blot himself showed appreciation for the Shadow's dress sense, asking him “who did his cloaks”.

The Shadow, an iconic 1930's radio, film, prose and comic-strip pop-hero, made a guest appearance in the Disney Comics universe in the 1975 unofficial comic strip The Blot and the Shadow, by a younger Don Rosa.
