For Scrooge McDuck's birthday, his grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck (alongside Webby Vanderquack) decide to offer him flowers — namely, "silver dollars". Only, learning of a transaction involving "a big bunch of silver dollars", Flintheart Glomgold decides to ruin Scrooge's birthday most profitably by hiring three Beagle Boys to steal the "money" from Scrooge. Things come to a head at a big party that also includes Quacky McSlant, Gyro Gearloose, Gladstone Gander, Doofus Drake and Launchpad McQuack!

Behind the scenesEdit

This short illustrated story was printed by Western Publishing as a hardback book in 1988, part of their A Golden Tell-A-Tale Book collection. It is part of DuckTales.

The story is notable, among other things, for stating Scrooge McDuck's birthday as July the 8th, and featuring a rare talking appearance by Quacky McSlant, who is once again shown as a close enough acquaintance of Scrooge's to be invited to his birthday party, much as he was in Sweet Duck of Youth.
