Sleeping Apples, also known as Poison Apples, are bewitched apples.
Description[]
Sleeping Apples are uniquely appetizing apples which have been dipped by a witch in a foul magic potion, infusing them with the Curse of the Sleeping Death. Once one has eaten from such an apple, one will fall into a literally deathlike sleep (thus running the risk of being buried alive).
Only the Kiss of True Love will rouse the victim from this bewitched state,[1] although one account states that this only went for beautiful and virtuous people, whereas ugly and flawed people would only require the kiss of someone as flawed and ugly as themselves; for example, the Seven Dwarfs would be awakened by the kiss of a hag.[2]
Witch Grimhilde learned the recipe of Poison Apples from a grimoire back when she was still Queen Grimhilde, as part of her ill-fated attempt to murder Princess Snow White and replace her as “Fairest of Them All”.[1] She has continued using increasing quantities of Sleeping Apples ever since.
