The Society of the Scarlet Crabs is a malevolent secret organization.

Description

The Society of the Scarlet Crabs are a malevolent group (composed of either scarlet-colored crabs, or people believing themselves to be scarlet-colored crabs), one of the Horde of the Violet Hare's numerous copycats-slash-rivals created by faulty brainwashing that left retired members of the organization with a compulsion to found others with similar names and goals.[1] Beyond a vestigial lust for Atlantean treasure, the organization's primary purpose is to take over the world and collect all the shells to be found there. The Society, like many other Hare-copycats, collectively acts as an avid reader of Joe Torcivia's blog, and once got quite "crabby" trying to puzzle out a riddle posted by Torcivia.[2]

The Society was suspected by Debbie Anne Perry to be another organization created by her housemate (and house mouse) Mervin, much like the Legion of the Chartreuse Tortoise and the Passel of the Pastel Ponies. The veracity of this suspicion is unknown.[3]

Behind the scenes

The Society of the Scarlet Crabs was created by an anonymous user (known by the Wiki to be Aristide Twain) on Joe Torcivia's The Issue At Hand.
