Squire Trelawney was a human man.
Description[edit | edit source]
A bombastic, energetic landowner, Squire Trelawney (a friend of Doctor Livesey's) got involved with Long John Silver's plot to get Captain Flint's treasure after Jim Hawkins enlisted his help to protect the Benbow Inn from the attacking pirates. Enthused by the idea of a swashbuckling adventure finding buried treasure, Trelawney mounted an expedition to Treasure Island, and, despite his disastrous choice of a crew (nearly all of whom turned out to be disguised pirates), he came home safe and sound with a large share of the treasure.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Squire Trelawney appeared in the 1950 film Treasure Island and a few other Disney adaptations and parodies of the Treasure Island story.
In the original novel, his first name is given as John.
