The Steam-Powered Steeds were steam-powered, horse-shaped vehicles created by Gyro Gearloose the 2017 Continuum.
Description[]
Gyro Gearloose created the four Steam-Powered Steeds during a travel back in time to the Old West. He, alongside Marshall Cabrera and the younger selves of Scrooge McDuck and Goldie O'Gilt, used them to catch up with John D. Rockerduck to get back the gold out of which Rockerduck had tricked the town of Gumption. The Steeds (which, by Cabrera's analysis, couldn't go faster than 30 mPh, making them scarcely better than real horses; the observation annoyed Gearloose) quickly broke down, and Cabrera subsequently scavenged them for parts in building the first version of the Gizmosuit, which was equally short-lived but did help save the day.
Behind the scenes[]
The Steam-Powered Steeds appear in the DuckTales 2017 episode The Outlaw Scrooge McDuck. Due to not possessing the brains to do so, they are among the very few inventions of Gyro Gearloose in the series not to have turned evil.
