Tachyon Farflung is an alien criminal from the planet Melbar, whom aims to become the most famous criminal in the galaxy. To that end, he often tries to steal Scrooge McDuck's money, but not for the economic value itself.
He is very self-important, and brags a lot, despite rarely achieving anything. He won't even work with his own inter-galactic criminal friends, such as Myron.
Abilities and weaknesses
As a native of a far-off civilization, he has access to various technology not usually seen on Earth, such as a flying saucer, hoverboots and a freezing Reality Remote, and various other tools.
He claims no prison can hold him, and he can break out any time he'd like.
However, he seems to have a weakness for rather typical earth-things, such as perfume or soap.
Themes
Tachyon, being an alien, means that stories featuring him will usually have somewhat a sci-fi aspect to them. This means that various new concepts can appear, such as giant robots and space-dinosaurs.
He is also different from most of the Disney villains, as he doesn't care for money, only the fame his crimes will bring him.
Behind the Scenes
Tachyon was first introduced by Stefan Printz-Påhlson and Unn Printz-Påhlson in The Terror from Outer Space (1997), whom used him for a sequel that same year. He was later used for three stories by Lars Jensen, and made a cameo appearance in A Stitch in Time. His latest appearance was Whatever happened to Scrooge McDuck in 2006, and he has never appeared since.
