Scrooge McDuck Wikia

Tax-Deductible Robbery is an unofficial title for comic strip written by Bob Karp and drawn by Al Taliaferro and inked by Kay Wright. It features Donald Duck, Scrooge McDuck and an unnamed robber.

Scrooge McDuck seems downright happy to let himself robbed of his pocket-changed by a masked hold-up man — on condition the bandit count the money to the last bus token and give him the precise figure of what he's taking. Why might that be?

Behind the scenes

This story was only ever printed in English in July of 1962 in miscellaneous American newspapers. It gained some level of notoriety when the original art, signed by Scrooge McDuck's creator Carl Barks, was sold at an online auction (as seen in the infobox image above).
