The Beach Caper, also printed as A Case of Too Many Sea Monsters, is a comic story written by Carl Fallberg, penciled by Tony Strobl and inked by John Liggera. It features Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, Gyro Gearloose, "Unca Scrooge" and Cringely.

Plot[]

Scrooge McDuck wants to build a seaside canned tuna factory, but Donald Duck refuses to sell the last plot of land he needs, on which he happens to be living these days. Scrooge attempts to chase him out through hoaxes, going from sharks to a tsunami and eventually to a full-blown sea monster. However, each time, Donald and his nephews' bravery (or just sheer happenstance) lead his schemes to failure.

Behind the scenes[]

This story was first published in Uncle Scrooge #49, and was later reprinted in Uncle Scrooge #153 as well as the Australian Giant #322.

The basic premise (moved at sea) is lifted from Carl Barks's earlier story Wispy Willie.
