The Big Fall is a comic story written by Lee Nordling, penciled by Stephen DeStefano and inked by Gary Martin. It features Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, the Phantom Blot, Chief O'Hara and a spoiler character.
Plot[]
The Phantom Blot is once again tailed by Mickey Mouse and the Mouseton police (led by Chief O'Hara) for stealing the Two-Birds Diamond. His tracks are found to end on the edge of a pit, and he is presumed dead. However, the Blot soon arranges for Mickey Mouse to meet him in an old abandoned mansion, and asserts that he has been blackmailed into stealing the diamond; moreover, he explains that he actually lost the stone when falling into the pit, and that only a small fellow like Mickey could retrieve it and save him and the kidnapper's hostage (whom he doesn't want to describe in more details than as "the most important lady in his life").
Behind the scenes[]
This story was first printed in December of 1990 in Mickey Mouse Adventures #7. It ends on a cliffhanger that is resolved in the sequel, A Phantom Blot Bedtime Story, printed in the next issue of Mickey Mouse Adventures the next month.
