The Code of Duckburg is a comic story written and drawn by Carl Barks. It features Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, Gladstone Gander, and, in their debut, Roscoe the Reindeer and Mousie Mona.

Gladstone Gander gifts a reindeer he won to Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck. The triplets desperately want to keep the animal, but their Unca Donald is set against the idea. Taking advantage of an old Duckburg tradition, the ducklings attempt to smuggle Roscoe into their house on Christmas Eve so that Donald will be forced to keep him…

Behind the scenesEdit

This story was written in October 1956, and delayed for unknown reasons until January 1958, when it was printed in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #208. It was reprinted in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #376, Uncle Scrooge #317, and, of course, in the various Carl Barks Libraries. It was also printed in English in the Australian Walt Disney's Comics #147, #291 and #314.

Mousie Mona, mentioned in the story, is said to be "from Corona". While Barks was likely referring to the Californian city, in hindsight, it is possible that in-universe Mouise Mona is a resident from the Kingdom of Corona. This would make this story the first appearance of said Kingdom.

Interestingly, in the German localization of the story by Erika Fuchs, Mousie Mona's name was translated as "Aunt Betty from Brazil", implying she is a relative of Donald's.
