The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids is a cartoon webcast by Aristide Twain. It features the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids, and, in their debuts, Mr Rectangle and Miss Bubble. Aphrodite is mentioned in writing.
Plot[]
The webcast purports itself to be an advertisement broadcast by the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids. They introduce Mr Rectangle and Miss Bubble, two living geometrical shapes who "don't like each other very much" and are, according to them, miserable as a result. They then proceed to send down a Cupid who touches both with his arrow, making them fall madly in love — so madly that they are no longer interested in participating in the shooting of the commercial. The Crew hastily cuts to the title card, cursing their field agents' tendency to overdose the love potion.
Continuity[]
- Our Latest Success Story (2019) functions as a brief 'novelization' of the cartoon, as well as offering a sequel to it in its framing device of the Cupids reminiscing about the cartoon's events.
- The events would again be referenced in Cupid Fact File No. 94 — The Euclidean Plane (2019), which establishes numerous worldbuilding elements about the cartoon's setting, the Euclidean Plane.
Behind the scenes[]
The webcast was released a few days after Valentine's Day in 2018 on the Goblin Studios YouTube channel.
Unlike previous Disney-adjacent works by the Studios, such as The Bride and the Box, The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids is not a fan work, having obtained permission to use the Copper-Colored Cupids from Lupan Evezan, who had created them on the comment section of Joe Torcivia's The Issue At Hand not long before.
