The Empire-builder from Calisota is a comic story written and drawn by Don Rosa. It features Scrooge McDuck, Hortense McDuck, Matilda McDuck, Donald Duck and Della Duck, King El Dorado, Foola Zoola, Bombie the Zombie, Quackmore Duck, Emily Quackfaster, Katie Mallard, Copperhead McViper, King Fulla Colla and the Brown-Mustached Mayor. It is Chapter Eleven of The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck.
Scrooge McDuck travels around the world, strengthening his financial empire, seeking to become the richest dukc in the world. However, he is also progressively loosing his moral side, to the disapproval of his sisters Matilda and Hortense. This culminates when, in Africa, Scrooge illegally burns down a village for profit. Karma then kicks in when nefarious sorcerer Foola Zoola decides to take revenge for the burnt village by siccing an undead servant carrying a terrible curse on Scrooge McDuck.

This story was first printed in April of 1994 in the Islandish Andrés Önd #1994-15. It was first printed in English in Uncle Scrooge #295 and was then reprinted in Uncle Scrooge Adventures by Don Rosa #4, the Don Rosa Library and in the various printing of The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck.
