The Fame Game is a comic story written by Vic Lockman and drawn by Jack Bradbury. It features Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck and the anonymous Guard of the Duckburg Hall of Fame, as well as a statue of Sir Wilbur Webtoe.
Donald Duck haunts the Duckburg Hall of Fame (to the annoyance of its cranky Guard), bothering everyone by his claims that none of the thereby honore "heroes" had done anything that extraordinary and that he, Donald, could manage a feat worthy of getting a statue in the Hall without even leaving Duckburg. Noticing that the most recent addition is the marble statue of Sir Wilbur Webtoe, who climbed Mount Pinnacle, Donald settles on climbing the Empire Duck Building, the tallest building in Duckburg. After much hijinx, he does get to the top… but is it such an extraordinary feat?
Behind the scenes
This story was first printed in March of 1961 in Donald Duck #76. It was later reprinted in Donald Duck #164. The Duckburg Hall of Fame had first been seen seven years before, in A Big Bust, where it was Scrooge McDuck who tried to get a statue of himself in it.
