New Gods on the Block is the seventeenth episode of Season 3 of DuckTales 2017. Written by Madison Bateman, in addition to the rest of the usual DT17 writers' room, it was directed by Matthew Humphries. It features Huey Duck, Dewey Duck, Louie Duck, Webby Vanderquack, Scrooge McDuck, Fergus McDuck, Downy O'Drake, the Phantom Blot, Pepper, Whiskers, and Matilda McDuck and Emutilda in their debuts. Animated statues of Agnes, Danny, Dingus, and Murdoch McDuck, the former two being the debuts of their respective characters, also appear.

Plot

An unexpected glitch involving the mists of Castle McDuck allows Scrooge and the kids to visit the castle in search of the Blessed Bagpipe of Clan McDuck. Their visit leads to a meeting with Scrooge's sister Matilda, which leads to a family spat as the McDucks bicker over unearthed secrets and conflicting attitudes. Will the family be able to reconcile before they are destroyed by the Phantom Blot?
