The First Adventure is the sixteenth episode of Season 3 of DuckTales 2017. Written by Christian Magalhaes, in addition to the rest of the usual DT17 writers' room, it was directed by Tanner Johnson and Vince Aparo. It features Scrooge McDuck, Della Duck, Donald Duck, Bradford Buzzard, Black Heron, Bentina Beakley, Duckworth, Ludwig Von Drake, and Yellow Beak in his debut. Hortense and Quackmore Duck and El Capitán are mentioned.

Plot

In a story set some decades prior to Woo-oo!, Scrooge is forced to leave his business interests behind and come out of retirement when S.H.U.S.H. discovers the location of the long-lost Papyrus of Binding. Director 22 is counting on him to beat F.O.W.L., who have infiltrated S.H.U.S.H., to the artifact. However, Scrooge's success may just depend on the unlikely-and unwanted-assistance of his twin niece and nephew.

• The letter Hortense sends Scrooge explaining why she has left Donald and Della with him is nearly identical to that sent by Della Duck to Donald Duck in "Donald's Nephews", with the 2017 Continuum's Quackmore taking the place of the Prime Universe's Mr. Duck.
