The Fleaing Feline is a comic story written by Carl Fallberg and drawn by Al Hubbard. It features Tinker Bell, Lucifer, Jaq and Gus, Gepetto, and, in their debut, his Flea Circus. Cinderella and her Prince are also mentioned.
Tinker Bell visits Cinderella's Castle after a stop at Gepetto's (where she meets admires his Flea Circus). There, malicious and surprisingly eloqunent housecat Lucifer hoodwinks her into using Pixie Dust to get him inside the Castle, where he soon resumes trying to eat Jaq and Gus!
Behind the scenesEdit
This story was first printed in the United States of America, in the 1959 Four Color Comics #982. It was later reprinted in Walt Disney Showcase #37 and the British Mickey Mouse #77 and #78 (in two parts), where the title was style "Flea-ing Feline" rather than "Fleaing Feline".
The story is notable for presenting a rather unusual (and highly memorable) take on Lucifer, depicted as a talking, and even eloquent, villain as opposed to a mute character akin to Pluto. The story does not clarify whether Lucifer truly speaks English or is 'speaking cat', however, as it would be well within the scope of Tinker Bell's power to speak cat.
