The Haunted House is a 1929 cartoon short featuring Mickey Mouse.
Seeking shelter from a bad storm, Mickey Mouse hides in an old dilapidated house. Inside, there are skeletons. After some frightening encounters, they make Mickey play the organ for them to dance to.
- The titular haunted house is believed to have served as the inspiration for the Old Mortimer Mansion seen in the comic story Mickey Mouse in Death Valley (1930).
Behind the scenes Edit
On August the 22nd, 1929 The short The Skeleton Dance, the first of the Silly Symphonies, was released to the public. The Haunted House came out just a few weeks before this on August the 1st, 1929 as part of the Mickey Mouse cartoon series. Several scenes from the skeleton dance were directly inspired by this cartoon.
