Volume II of this complete history of the Wild West contained a passage recounting the legendary defeat of a group of masked raiders by Sheriff Bluffer Duck, in honor of which he town he'd saved was named Duck's Bluff.
Thus, after rumors reached Bluffer's descendants Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck and Donald Duck that the people of Duck's Bluff now believed Bluffer to have been a sham, they brought the book with them to the town to try and clear Donald's great-grandpa's name.
