The Library of Mysteries (La Biblioteca dei Misteri in the original Italian) is a comic story written by Stefano Ambrosio and drawn by Andrea Freccero. It features Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, Albert Quackmore, Oliver Hogwilde, Cashew and Miss Quackfaster.
It's the grand premiere of a new installment in the popular fantasy film series Harry Ducker, titled The Library of Mysteries. Of course, every kid in Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck's school is excited to go see it… but it quickly turns out the local theater is already full. The only remaining tickets are held by Oliver Hogwilde, the son of the mayor of Duckburg, who, lazy as he is, offers to give them to whoever will do his homework for him. Huey, Dewey and Louie, teaming up with their friend Cashew, try to do so, but in the process learn a good lesson about honesty.
Behind the scenesEdit
This story was first printed in September of 2007 in Italy in Topolino #2702. In English, it was released on the "Disney Comics" IOS app and ComiXology website.
The Library of Mysteries was the first installment in the series HDL-Blog (Q-Blog in Italian), where everyday stories featuring Huey, Dewey and Louie and their classmates were told through the ducklings' blog entries.
The movie the children want to see, The Library of Mysteries, and the series it is part of, Harry Ducker, are an obvious play on the Harry Potter films and books, with the movie's title likely being a reference to The Chamber of Secrets, an actual Harry Potter film. Quackmore briefly references a fragment of the plot, mentioning the titular library is the library of Duckwarts Castle, an obvious pun on Hogwarts Castle, the setting of The Chamber of Secrets. Similarly, the science-fiction movie the three ducklings end up starring in is titled Star Ducks - Episode VII, likely a play on Star Wars and/or Star Trek, two popular theatrical science fiction franchises.
