The Midas Touch is a comic story written and drawn by Carl Barks. It features Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, and, in their debuts, Miss Quackfaster and Magica De Spell. It also, naturally, mentions King Midas, and features brief appearances of Ratface and Magica's Cat.
Plot[]
Debutant sorceress Magica De Spell shows up at Scrooge McDuck's office one fine morning, intending to buy a dime from him for a dollar. She soon explains that melting several coins touched by the richest men in the world could grant her the famed "golden touch" of King Midas. Scrooge is happy to play along, but accidentally gives her his Number One Dime rather than any other common dime. Once informed of the mix-up, Magica refuses to give the Old #1 Dime up, as she believes the first coin earned by the richest man in the world will be more powerful than any other. The ducks chase her to Mount Vesuvius, where she plans on melting the precious coin…
