The Last of the Clan McDuck is a comic story written and drawn by Don Rosa, with some creative input from Byron Erickson. It features Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, and, in flashback, Goldie O'Gilt, Soapy Slick, Helmsman Benny, Judge Roy Bean, Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. John Philip Sousa and Buffalo Bill are also mentioned.
Plot[]
Prompted by Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, Scrooge McDuck comes to reminisce about the month he spent in White Agony Creek with Goldie O'Gilt all those years ago, and the many strange adventures they lived through together while slowly growing fonder and fonder of each other.
Behind the scenes[]
The Prisoner of White Agony Creek serves as an additional chapter ("8B") of The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. Famously the last full story written and drawn by Don Rosa, it explores the flashback introduced in Carl Barks's Back to the Klondike.
It was first printed in the Finnish Aku Ankka #2006-18 in May of 2006 and was released in English later the same year in Volume 2 of a collected softcover edition of The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. It was, of course, reprinted in the Don Rosa Library.
The comic was given a fanmade full-cast dubbing as part of The Donald Duck Project for Christmas 2018. It starred Kovabomb as Scrooge McDuck, Katastrofree as Goldie O'Gilt, Severage as Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, Justin Hollobaugh as Donald Duck, Benjamin Makinson as Soapy Slick, Sir Chasm as Wyatt Earp, and Glenn Lobdell as both Roy Bean and Bat Masterson. The production was overseen by Luna-Diggory Tennant.
The story was also Rosa's last.
