The Spear of Selene is a cartoon written by Madison Bateman (along with DuckTales 2017's normal team of writers) and directed by Dana Terrace. It features Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey, and Louie Duck, Webbigail Vanderquack, Zeus, Storkules, Selene, Launchpad McQuack, Charybdis, and Ligeia the Siren. Della Duck is also seen in flashback form, and Poseidon is mentioned.

Description

After the Ducks accidentally land themselves in Ithaquack, Donald Duck is dragged into the renewed feud between his Uncle Scrooge and the god Zeus, with obnoxiously fanboyish hero Storkules coming along for the ride. Meanwhile, Dewey and Webby, still investigating the mystery of Della Duck and the Spear of Selene, seek out the goddess Selene herself….

Questioned about why Donald Duck deigned to join Scrooge on the adventure, Francisco Angones stated that Scrooge had offered to fly Donald to Brutopia to get a spare part for his broken houseboat, without telling him about the trip's ultimate target.
