The Tourist from the End of the Universe (titled Paperino e il Turista Spaziale in the original Italian) is a comic story written by Carlo Chendi and drawn by Giorgio Cavazzano. It features Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, Clerkly Senior and (in his debut) O.K. Quack.
Plot[]
Uncle Scrooge's Money Bin is visited by the most unexpected of visitors — O.K. Quack, an eccentric if normal-looking alien from the planet Anatidae, who's spending his vacation touring the Milky Way. Unfortunately O.K.'s ship, the Flywheel, is a circular, metallic object that can shrink to coin-size for storage… which quickly becomes a problem when Huey, Dewey and Louie, confusing it for a real coin, spend it on a bus ticket and lose O.K. his ticket back home!
Behind the scenes[]
This story was first printed on the 1st of November, 1981 in the Italian Topolino #1353. It was printed in English in Uncle Scrooge #434, with the script slightly altered (by Jonathan Gray), as usual with modern American translations. The title character was also changed from Donald Duck to Scrooge McDuck in this printing.
This story is notable for being the first appearance of O.K. Quack.
The English title is likely a reference to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy book The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.
