Pharaoh Toth-Ra I is an undead male anthropomorphic hawk from the 2017 Continuum.

Description[]

Once a mighty pharaoh of Ancient Egypt, worshipped as a physical god, Toth-Ra arranged for his to become a powerful undead creature after mummification. His mummy was placed in his Pyramid, and a large group of his servants stayed in the Pyramid to serve him when he rose. Unfortunately, the Prophecy took some time being fulfilled, and in the meantime, the dynasty of Toth-Ra's bodyguards (ending with Sabaf in the 21st century) began using puppetry and special effects to convince the community of descendants of the servants that Toth-Ra had indeed been revived.

Finally, in 2017, following the incursion of explorers Scrooge McDuck and family, Toth-Ra was finally, truly revived. Realizing he had been betrayed by his people, he went on a murderous rampage, using his fearsome powers (such as laserbeam-eyes). However, the servants (organized by Launchpad McQuack) were prepared and managed to undo Toth-Ra's resurrection, deactivating the magic that was animating his body.

Behind the scenes[]

Toth-Ra first appeared in 2017 in the DuckTales 2017 Theme Song, and made his first true appearance in The Living Mummies of Toth-Ra, an episode of DuckTales 2017. He can also be seen in the opening credits of the series, and makes a cameo as part of Dewey Duck's dayfream in Sleep (Walk) of Doom. He is one of the characters specifically created for the series, who presumably does not have a counterpart in the regular universe, though he is somewhat comparable to Ka-Hoo-Fu, and Sabaf to Sarkus, in narrative role.
