Tracking Sandy is a comic story written and drawn by Carl Barks. It features Scrooge McDuckDonald DuckHuey, Dewey and Louie Duck (as Junior Woodchucks) and Dread Valley Sandy.


In exchange for financing the new Junior Woodhcucks' Science Hall, Scrooge McDuck asks for Donald and the nephews to follow desert rat Dread Valley Sandy to his hidden gold mine. The ducks set about this perilous task, and soon find out that Sandy is one tricky fox… but is he tricky enough to stump the wit of three Junior Woodchucks?

Behind the scenesEdit

This story was first printed in February of 1959 in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #221. It was then reprinted in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #407, and, of course, in the various versions of the Carl Barks Library. It was also printed in the Australian Walt Disney's Comics #157 and in Giant #400: Donald Duck Bonanza, where it received its title Tracking Sandy.
