Plot[edit | edit source]
A misfired invention sends Scrooge McDuck and Gyro Gearloose back thousands of years to the besieged city of Tootum-Too. Scrooge must use his future knowledge to prevent the destruction of the city… while, if at all possible, snatching the enemy army's large golden idol!
References[edit | edit source]
- When combined, Gyro Gearloose's unrelated inventions the Terrascope and the Gyro-Plane function as a time machine.
Continuity[edit | edit source]
- Battle of Petras (1965) had used a similar plot of Scrooge McDuck traveling back to ancient times in a Gyro Gearloose time machine and becoming embroiled in the war between two rival middle-eastern cities, in this case Petras and Salamander City. Curiously, much like King Tootum-Too here shares his name withthe nation he rules, the cities of Petras and Salamander City were, in the 1965 story, ruled by Prince Petra and Salamander the Great respectively.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
This story was only ever published in English in the 1982 Uncle Scrooge #202.
INDUCKS does not have a record of the writer of the story, though it is most likely Vic Lockman, based on style (the plot has notable similarities to Lockman's earlier stories Og's Iron Bed and Battle of Petras, among other things).
