Uncle Scrooge and the Bodacious Butterfly Trail (entitled Paperino e la Farfalla di Colombo in the original Italian version), or simply The Bodacious Butterfly Trail, is a comic story written and penciled by Romano Scarpa and inked by Rodolfo Cimino. It features Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, Brigitta McBridge, the Beagle Boys, Christopher Columbus, as well as Bertram and the Butterfly of Columbus.
Plot[]
It is Mardi Gras, traditionally a time of pranks in sunny Duckburg. Meanwhile, Donald and the nephews are earning a few dollars capturing and photographing butterflies so Brigitta McBridge can draw inspiration from their wing patterns for her new fashion company. To their surprise, one of the butterflies turns out to have a treasure map etched on his wings instead of an abstract pattern… Scrooge McDuck and the Beagle Boys quickly join in on the wacky treasure quest. But is it really worth it?

- Prologue to the Complete Donald Duck (1966) features a sequence in which, reminded of this adventure by Daisy, Donald recounts what happened next and how he lost the gold due to being accused of trying to smuggle it once he reached the border, after numerous other misadventures.
- The Butterfly Tribe (2016) expounds on what transpired between the end of Bodacious Butterfly Trail and the above Prologue, showing the Ducks and Scrooge (plus the Beagle Boys) butting heads with a tribe who worship the Butterflies).

This story was first printed on the 4th of March, 1962 in the Italian Topolino #327. It was printed in English in two parts Uncle Scrooge #431 and #432. In this version, the script was not only translated but also localised, as per the American tradition, in this case by Thad Komorowski.
