Wild Waves is a cartoon likely written by Ub Iwerks and Walt Disney, and directed by Burt Gillett. It features Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.

Beachwatcher Mickey Mouse struggles to save Minnie Mouse, in danger of drowning, because of unusually wild waves (hence the title). Once she is finally safe on the shore, Mickey tries to cheer the sad girl up with an impromptu musical performance helped by the various beach animals (including dancing pelicans and a baritone walrus).

Behind the scenesEdit

This cartoon short was released in 1929 in black and white, and later colorized. It is partially a remake of the earlier Oswald Rabbit short All Wet, and footage from Wild Waves was again lifted for The Castaway.
