Zoa is a planet located somewhere in the Prime Universe.

Description

Zoa is a ringed, orangish planet, seemingly the only one to orbit its sun. It is home to the Zoaites, a species of technologically-advanced humanoids, and also boasts a wide and complex ecosystem with such picturesque specimens as the Leaping Lizards and Airiodactyls.

Behind the scenes

Zoa is the setting of the 1980 story Mission to Planet Zoa.

Zoa is the Greek word for "animals" (its root finding its way to modern English in such words as "zoology" and "zoo"). This is likely intentional, fitting in with Mission to Planet Zoa's ecologist themes.
